What you get when you bring a watch to a focused studio
Three services, the right tools, and a technician who has been doing this long enough to know when to slow down.

Six things that make a difference when you choose where to leave your watch.
Over Twenty Years at the Bench
The head technician, Wanchai Prateep, has worked on quartz movements since the early 2000s. The knowledge comes from repetition, not certification documents.
Tools Matched to the Work
Case openers, crystal presses, and pressure testing equipment are selected for the specific case type, not the first tool to hand.
Plain Communication
You will know what the technician found, what was done, and what it cost before the watch leaves the studio. No hidden extras, no vague summaries.
Prices Stated in Full
Service prices are discussed at drop-off and listed on the receipt. Any additional findings are explained before work proceeds — you are never committed to something you did not agree to.
Attentive Handling
Every piece is held in a numbered padded tray. Condition notes are taken before any work begins. Overnight storage is in a locked, alarmed cabinet.
Accessible Location
156 Charoen Krung Road, a few minutes' walk from BTS Saphan Taksin and the Chao Phraya Express pier at Central Pier.
Two decades of quartz and steel work
Wanchai Prateep spent twelve years working in a larger Bangkok service centre before opening Tickwise in 2011. That time was spent almost entirely on quartz battery work and water-resistance servicing — the kind of repetitive, detail-oriented work that builds a reliable hand. Since 2019, Naree Jantarasombat has added specialist knowledge in crystal matching for older and discontinued models.
- 12+ years in a professional service centre before founding Tickwise
- Experience with quartz, vintage, and sport steel models
- Crystal specialist with sourcing knowledge for discontinued parts
"The work that builds knowledge is the work you do a thousand times. Battery replacement on a hundred different case types teaches you more about a case back than any manual."
— Wanchai Prateep, Tickwise
The studio holds dedicated tools for the case types it encounters most — from screw-back sport watches to pressure-fit dress cases. Crystal presses are sized to the crystals being fitted, not approximated.
A defined process, followed every time
Each service follows a documented sequence: condition noted, work carried out, result checked, receipt written. There is no variation based on how busy the bench is or how straightforward the job appears.
- Condition noted before and after every service
- Pressure check after battery and crystal work
- Written receipt for every piece received
You will know what is happening
The technician explains the assessment in plain language. If something unexpected appears — a worn gasket, a bracelet pin that is wearing thin — you will hear about it before any decision is made. No surprises when you collect the watch.
- Assessment explained at drop-off
- Any additional findings discussed before action
- Collection includes a walkthrough of what was done
Battery replacements can be watched in progress if the customer would like to see the process. The studio does not mind an attentive customer.
SVC-001 Battery Replacement — ฿ 3,800
SVC-002 Crystal Replacement — ฿ 12,500
SVC-003 Case Refinishing — ฿ 26,500
What it costs before you commit
Prices are shown on the studio board and on this site. There are no assessment fees, no call-out charges, and no charges for a brief look at a piece you are considering bringing in. If additional work is needed beyond the quoted service, it is described and priced before it begins.
Tickwise vs Typical Alternatives
A plain comparison of what a focused specialist studio offers against more common options.
| Feature | General Repair Shops | Tickwise |
|---|---|---|
| Service scope | Broad, inconsistent focus | 3 specialist services only |
| Tool specificity | Generic tools used broadly | Tools matched to case type |
| Condition notes | Rarely documented | Recorded before every service |
| Pricing transparency | Often quoted after assessment fee | Prices visible before drop-off |
| Pressure check after battery work | Not always included | Included on water-resistant cases |
| Written receipt | Variable | Issued for every piece |
What Sets This Studio Apart
Things that are not common in general repair shops but are standard practice here.
Crystal Sourcing for Discontinued Models
Naree Jantarasombat maintains supplier contacts for sapphire and mineral crystals from models that have been out of production for a decade or more. If a replacement exists, the studio will find it.
Open-Bench Battery Replacements
Customers who want to observe a battery change are welcome to watch. The technician works at a visible bench, not behind a counter or in a back room.
Polishing as an Alternative to Replacement
Where a crystal has light surface marks that do not compromise clarity, the studio will offer polishing as a lower-cost alternative before recommending full replacement.
Engraving Protection During Refinishing
Case back engravings are masked individually before any refinishing begins. The geometry of the original case is treated as the reference throughout the work.
