How Each Service Is Handled

Every service at Tickwise starts the same way: the watch is received, its condition noted in writing, and the job described and priced before any work begins. This applies whether the visit takes thirty minutes or three days.

Work is carried out one piece at a time. The technician does not move to the next watch until the current service is complete and checked. For pressure-sensitive services — battery replacement and crystal fitting on water-resistant cases — a pressure test is performed before the watch is returned.

At collection, the technician provides a brief account of what was done. The receipt records the service, any parts fitted, and the price paid.

SVC-001

Battery Replacement & Pressure Check

A walk-in or scheduled appointment for quartz watches needing a fresh battery. The technician opens the case using the correct tool for the case back type, replaces the cell with a matched grade and size, inspects the gasket condition, replaces it if wear is evident, and performs a basic pressure check on water-resistant cases. The case exterior receives a brief clean before return. Bracelet pins are checked for looseness. Most appointments run between thirty and sixty minutes.

  • Battery matched to original cell specification
  • Gasket inspected; replaced where worn
  • Pressure check on water-resistant models
  • Case exterior cleaned at no additional cost
  • Walk-in welcome; scheduling also available

Process Steps

1

Case back opened with the appropriate tool for the back type (screw, snap, or press)

2

Old cell removed; movement and dial given a brief visual check

3

New battery fitted; gasket condition assessed and replaced if needed

4

Case back closed and torqued or pressed to spec

5

Pressure test performed on rated water-resistant models

6

Case exterior wiped; bracelet pins checked; watch returned with receipt

฿ 3,800 per service

Crystal Replacement & Polishing

A bench service for watches carrying a scratched, chipped, or cracked crystal. The technician matches a sapphire, mineral, or acrylic replacement to the original specification — profile, thickness, and diameter. The bezel is removed, the old crystal extracted, and the new one seated under press with a fresh gasket. Full reassembly and pressure check follow. Where the existing crystal can be saved through polishing rather than replacement, this is presented as an option. Sourcing for vintage or uncommon models may extend the timeline by one to two weeks.

  • Crystal matched by type, profile, and dimension
  • Seated under press with correct gasket
  • Polishing offered as alternative where feasible
  • Pressure check on completion
  • Vintage sourcing available

Process Steps

1

Crystal type, profile, and condition assessed; polishing option discussed if applicable

2

Bezel removed and set aside carefully; case masked to protect finish

3

Old crystal extracted; crystal channel cleaned

4

Replacement crystal seated under press with fresh gasket

5

Bezel refitted; case and dial inspected

6

Pressure test; returned with receipt

฿ 12,500 per service

Case Refinishing for Steel Watches

A workshop service that restores the brushed and polished surfaces of a steel case and bracelet. The technician masks each surface individually, works through successive grits and brushing tools, and finishes with hand-polishing on selected facets. Care is taken throughout to preserve the original case profile — this is not a general polish, but a recreation of the original finish geometry. Visible engravings are masked. Bracelet centre links receive light buffing. This service is best suited every several years, not as routine maintenance.

  • Each surface masked and treated separately
  • Original chamfer geometry preserved
  • Engravings protected throughout
  • Hand-polished selected facets
  • Bracelet centre links buffed

Process Steps

1

Case condition documented; original finish type noted (brushed, polished, or mixed)

2

Engravings, dial, and bezel masked; bracelet removed and disassembled

3

Brushed surfaces worked through successive grits in the direction of the original lines

4

Polished facets hand-finished; case profile checked against original geometry

5

Bracelet centre links buffed; bracelet reassembled

6

Full inspection; case returned with receipt

฿ 26,500 per service
