I came in without an appointment on a Tuesday morning. Wanchai opened my Seiko 5, showed me the old battery, and had the watch running again within forty minutes. He also noticed the bracelet spring bar on the six o'clock side was loose and tightened it without making it into a production. The price was as listed. I'll come back when it needs attention again.

Silom, Bangkok · Crystal Replacement
The crystal on my Longines had a crack running from nine to six — not a scratch, a proper break. Naree sourced a mineral crystal that matched the original curvature exactly. Turnaround was two days, which was slightly longer than I expected, but she explained the part had to come from their regular supplier and I appreciated the honesty. The watch looks as it should.

Riverside, Bangkok · Case Refinishing
I have a steel Omega Seamaster that I wear most days. After eight or nine years of that, the brushed surfaces on the case and bracelet had lost most of their definition. I was prepared for a rough result — case finishing often rounds the edges — but what came back from Tickwise looked like the original geometry had been restored, not approximated. The lug lines were crisp. Worth the week's wait.

Expat, Bangkok · Battery Service
A colleague pointed me here after I mentioned my Tag Heuer Formula 1 had stopped. The studio is easy to find if you know where you're walking on Charoen Krung — look for the small sign. Wanchai ran a pressure test after fitting the battery, which I hadn't specifically asked for but which he explained was standard on water-resistant cases. That kind of care without prompting is not always common.

Thonburi · Crystal Polishing
I brought in my late father's Tissot, which had a mineral crystal with surface marks but no chips. Naree looked at it and suggested polishing rather than replacement, which would have cost considerably less. The polishing removed about 80% of the visible marks — not every single one, but she had been upfront about what was achievable. I appreciated the honesty and the recommendation to try the lower-cost option first.

My Tudor Black Bay needed attention on the case — the brushed lugs had become almost polished through daily contact and the overall appearance looked worn. Wanchai showed me photos of similar work beforehand so I understood what was and was not possible. Six days later I collected it. The bracelet links were noticeably crisper and the case definition was back. My one comment: the pick-up notification came a day later than estimated, but the quality of the work made that easy to overlook.

A Few Cases Worth Describing
Sourcing a Crystal for a 1990s Citizen Quartz
Challenge
A customer brought in a 1994 Citizen Eco-Drive with a chipped crystal. The model was discontinued and the standard parts catalogue showed no matching crystal. The original piece was acrylic with a slight dome profile that was not shared by any current-production generic size.
Solution
Naree contacted two specialist acrylic crystal suppliers in Japan, providing measurements from the original piece. A matching profile was located within ten days. The crystal was fitted under press, a new gasket seated, and the case reassembled. Timeline: twelve days from drop-off to collection.
Result
The watch was returned with the original profile preserved. The customer had expected to be told the part was unavailable. Total cost: ฿ 14,200, slightly above the standard rate to cover the sourcing time. The additional cost was explained in advance.
"I had been to two other shops who said they couldn't help. Tickwise just found a way." — Customer note at collection
Steel Sport Watch with Heavily Worn Lug Corners
Challenge
A daily-wear steel sports watch with significant corner rounding on the lugs and polishing marks crossing the brushed flanks. A previous refinishing at a different shop had removed too much material from the chamfers, making the case profile softer than original.
Solution
Wanchai masked the dial and crystal, and worked the brushed surfaces with a fine grit before moving to a directional brushing tool to restore the flat planes. The chamfers were hand-finished carefully. Only the minimum necessary material was removed. Timeline: seven days.
Result
The lug profile was measurably sharper. The previously polished flanks showed consistent brushed lines. The customer noted the improvement was significantly more defined than the previous refinishing they had paid for elsewhere. Cost: ฿ 26,500 at the standard rate.
"The difference is visible. I wish I had come here first." — Customer at collection
Identifying a Gasket Issue During Routine Battery Change
Challenge
A customer came in for a straightforward battery replacement on a diver-rated Casio G-Shock. On opening, Wanchai noted the existing gasket had flattened significantly and had a visible set that would not recover on reseating.
Solution
The customer was shown the gasket condition before any further work was agreed. A replacement gasket was in stock. The battery and gasket were both replaced, and a pressure test performed to confirm the water resistance rating was maintained. Total time: forty-five minutes.
Result
The watch passed the pressure test at its rated depth. The additional gasket work added ฿ 400 to the base service, which was agreed before the work was done. The customer noted they had not expected anyone to check the gasket as part of a battery visit.
"I came in for a battery. They also fixed something I didn't know was wrong." — Customer note
